Several months ago our Lila met her next best friend Jass then only eight weeks of age (as described in little puppy visits big brown dog). Well, the size gap has now narrowed. Jass has grown up and we recently visited her home on Phillip Island in Victoria. An island with endless beach. [read more below]
The two girls had not seen each other since their first meeting, but if Lila was surprised by Jass’s enormously changed appearance, she did not show it. They eagerly reunited and celebrated with a frolic in the surf. We two humans tagged along talking mostly dogs, with the brisk wind biting our cheeks. And even though the sun slipped in and out of the clouds, we had the ocean to ourselves.

There’s something sorta medieval and “Seventh Seal-ish” about this clip: the dark moody beach, the wind, the dark silhouettes, Jass’s “horns”, and of course the apocalyptic mutterings about a stick by an unseen flagellant with an odd accent!

And I just thought it was a poorly shot video! (What odd accent???)

What a wonderful video of the dogs on a beautiful Australian winter beach! Lila must love Jass having grown up. It would be so good if she could visit our Pop-eye.

Lila would be delighted to visit Pop-eye, but I’m not sure how Pop-eye would feel about a big brown boisterous dog.

Dear dogblogger,
I do share your concerns about poor Pop-eye. She may be an elderly, fat little Chihuahua cross, but she has a personality that turns Dobermans into lapdogs. North Balwyn pit bulls live in fear. Go girl!

Have I mentioned that Lila’s already a lapdog? Literally.
